Design studyInspired by the opulence of Gilded Age. Built for today
Where ambition had no ceiling — and still doesn't
Custom cabinetry drawn from the golden era of American design — when Newport's summer “cottages” became some of the most extraordinary interiors ever built on this continent.
Serving Greater Boston, the South Shore, and Cape & Islands
The Gilded Age standard
Other shops point to England. We look closer to home.
The Gilded Age wasn't about restraint — it was vision without limits. In the late 1800s the country's most ambitious families built summer “cottages” along the Newport coastline so extraordinary the word became a private joke. That is the tradition we build from: not imitation of Europe, but the moment America stopped imitating and started leading.
Design studyCraftsmanship
Built the way they built then
Nothing hidden, nothing shortcut, nothing “good enough.” Solid timber carcasses, hand-cut dovetails, mouldings run from knives ground for your room alone, custom hardware and finishes brushed in thin coats over many days — every commission built and installed by our own hands.
Two eras. One standard.
Gilded roots. Modern rooms.
Not every home calls for a full Gilded Age statement. Our transitional work is the same philosophy translated — the proportion, the joinery and the obsession with detail, carried into cleaner lines and quieter finishes. The Gilded Age with its volume turned down.

A Newport standard, installed anywhere
The great estates were built by people who refused to accept what was already available. We work the same way — crating, shipping and installing every commission ourselves, wherever the house stands.
